Yesterday I got my first salary in Korea, and it felt more emotional than I expected. I treated myself to a simple dinner after work and just sat there thinking, wow, I really made it through the first month 🙂 There is nobody from my country in my office, so at first I thought I might feel a bit out of place, but actually it pushed me to talk more with everyone and listen carefully. Small things like coworkers explaining lunch menus or checking if I got home okay made this month feel warmer than I imagined. Just wanted to share a small happy update for anyone starting a new job here. Take it one day at a time, you’re doing better than you think.

เมื่อวานนี้ ฉันได้รับเงินเดือนก้อนแรกในเกาหลี และมันทำให้ฉันรู้สึกซาบซึ้งกว่าที่คาดไว้มาก ฉันพาตัวเองไปกินมื้อเย็นง่ายๆ หลังเลิกงาน แล้วก็นั่งคิดอยู่ตรงนั้นว่า โอ้โห ฉันผ่านมาได้ครบเดือนแรกแล้วจริงๆ 🙂 ในออฟฟิศของฉันไม่มีใครมาจากประเทศเดียวกับฉันเลย ตอนแรกฉันคิดว่าอาจจะรู้สึกไม่ค่อยเข้าพวก แต่จริงๆ แล้วมันกลับผลักดันให้ฉันคุยกับทุกคนมากขึ้นและตั้งใจฟังมากขึ้น เรื่องเล็กๆ อย่างเพื่อนร่วมงานอธิบายเมนูอาหารกลางวัน หรือคอยถามว่ากลับถึงบ้านเรียบร้อยไหม ทำให้เดือนนี้อบอุ่นกว่าที่ฉันจินตนาการไว้มาก แค่อยากมาแชร์ข่าวดีเล็กๆ สำหรับใครก็ตามที่กำลังเริ่มงานใหม่ที่นี่ ค่อยๆ ไปทีละวันนะ คุณทำได้ดีกว่าที่คุณคิดไว้มาก
